RBCS student unofficially broke his own world record!

On Saturday, 23 February, Hanré Leibbrandt, a Grade 9 RBCS student unofficially broke his own world record by 15kg at the most recent deadlifting competition held at Off The Grid Athletics Club in Durban.

In November 2018, Hanré was awarded the Teen 1 World Powerlifting Champion title at the World Powerlifting Championships held in Orlando Florida. Hanré dominated his class, deadlifting 175.5 kg and setting a new world record.

Hanré can only officially break his record once a year at a World Powerlifting Championship with 3 international referees present.

However, RBCS is extremely proud of his achievement and can’t wait to see the results when he represents South Africa at the World Powerlifting Championships in Finland this November.
