The RBCS Drama Department has a boost of energy and enthusiasm going into this new term with the studio coming to life. The RBCS Drama Department now offers a large space with enough room for desks as well as a performance area. The mirrors, black flooring and curtains have brought with them a keen desire in the drama students to get acting and really sink their teeth into their practical work.
Drama is an important tool for preparing students to live and work in a world that is increasingly team orientated rather than hierarchical. Drama also helps students develop tolerance, empathy and self discipline.
Theatre has always, from its ancient origins been a tool to teach, inspire and liberate. Our students learn these eras in history and their relevance in our society today.
Drama is a creative mix of world history and performance devices which stimulates critical thinking, self and peer evaluation and a keen interest in world cultures.
